English I students read short stories, the dramas The Miracle Worker and Romeo and Juliet, and Accelerated Reader books; Accelerated English I students will also read two classics. The students work on library skills the first term, and practice their writing skills daily. All students who take English I or Accelerated English I will be expected to take an end of course exam that is required by the state.
