Accelerated English II is a combination of reading comprehension, grammar, writing, and vocabulary. Students read the following books in depth: Jane Eyre and A Tale of Two Cities. Students select between All Quiet on the Western Front and The Great Gatsby, writing skills are practiced daily. A variety of short stories and plays are also covered. Memory work poems are said privately to the teacher for test grades. Vocabulary words include loan words from world literature. Students must also pass the Tennessee Gateway English II test given during the course to graduate.

Regular English II is a combination of , grammar, writing, and vocabulary, and literature. Students read one accelerated reader book each nine weeks and take a computer test on it. Writing skills are practiced daily. A variety of short stories and plays are also covered. Memory work poems are said privately to the teacher for test grades. Vocabulary words include loan words from world literature. Students must also pass the Tennessee Gateway English II test given during the course to graduate.
